Wonderful book that helps me de-stress! Easy and effective exercises that help me feel good and live in the present.
For people that are too busy to read about reducing stress-this is the book for you. Relaxation on the Run begins w/providing quick easy ways to relieve stress. The Squeegee breath in Chapter 1 is a winner.

Thoughts & Beliefs & Making Routine Activities into Meditation in the Mindfulness chapter is another effective approach to living life & reducing stress.

The Reframing Chapter I have used w/teenagers. It works. As Dr. Winner states,when you don't succeed, reframe it as an opportunity to succeed.

The analogy of Anger being like a Storm demonstrates the importance of forgiveness in stress reduction.

The entire book is filled w/gems of stress reduction techniques that make sense. You can read it like a book or pick it up whenever & glean pertinent applications/exercises to support you in enjoying life.

Toward the end of the book, Dr. Winner includes a personal poignant poem - Our Storm. It punctuates our relationship to humankind.

This is a life-changing book. Sometimes all it takes to relieve stress is a deep focused breath. Sometimes it's a shift in perspective that reminds us what we have rather than what we want. Dr. Winner covers a variety of techniques for decreasing the stress in your life and increasing your sense of well-being. He does so in a straightforward, humorous way that makes for a fun, relaxing read. I highly recommend this book to anyone. It's a valuable resource of medical information delivered in an entertaining way.

This is the most practical book about stress management. It is filled with theory, exercises, encouragement and is written in a very funny way. Applicable to all religious and non-religious people. Superb!!
This book contains excellent ideas about stress reduction and presents the ideas in an engaging and practical way with just the right touch of humor and cues to make in easy to integrate in one's life. I liked it so much I bought the book for four of my friends around the country and have received high praise and appreciation for the gift. In one case the individual mentioned it has turned his life around by providing guidelines to assist in managing stress that was getting out of control. Another is using the breathing techniques when he feels stressful and has integrated the on -line meditations in his daily routine. Another couple found it so helpful they are buying copies for each of their grown children. Highly recommend this readable and engaging work that addresses one of the major medical problems in our society---stress!.
